The caucasian gentleman with the beard hands down MAKES THE BEST COFFEE IN WELLINGTON CBD. His coffee is consistently fresh & rich, never burnt or bitter, temperature & ratio are bang on, milk is always silky never bubbly - it’s perfect! Many people can “make coffee” but most lack the skills to make it well let alone exceptional. Give that man a raise and never let him go! The service at sierra is fantastic, all of the team are very friendly and helpful. The (manager/owner?) gentleman with the black hair really took the time to get to know me and my staff, he knows our orders by heart and he builds that rapport with all of his customers. I love the app! It’s so easy to use. You earn dollars on every purchase, spend them at your leisure or save them up. You can gift points, track your transactions, save payment cards, find stores. Keeping up with technology isn’t always easy but Sierra has not only levelled up from carrying around a ten click coffee card but they’ve created something that maximises value for both the business and the customer. Unfortunately I’ve relocated and am missing my morning fix however I’ll definitely be back when I’m around. All the best, you guys are amazing!

Sierra Café on Lambton Quay is a handy little spot tucked away upstairs from the main street, which makes it feel a bit calmer than some of the busier Wellington cafés. The coffee here is solid — my flat white was smooth and strong enough to start the day. I ordered a vegan sandwich, which was creamy and tasty. The cabinet food looked fresh, with muffins, scones, and frittatas that seemed popular with other customers. Service was quick and friendly; even when the café started filling up around lunchtime, my order came out fast. The space has a relaxed, casual vibe and works well for either a quick stop or a longer sit-down. Prices are pocket-friendly. I liked that they cater to different diets with vegetarian and gluten-free options. It’s not the flashiest café in Wellington, but it’s dependable and comfortable. I’d happily come back, especially for breakfast or a mid-morning coffee.

Great lunch with family. Not noisy. Heaps of room around your table so you are not to close to others.

The coffees were alright- lavender latte was good they do have good options on their breakfast menu, the atmosphere was quite dim but the cafe is very spacious if you want to work from a cafe this would suit well !

Came here for lunch with a group of friends. The staff were very friendly. I had the iced coffee which was great and the sticky piggy burger which was nice but would have been better with less mayo. Chips were super yummy though!

Crispy hot chips and belly pork hamburger. Tasted good but would have liked more belly pork. Berry znd chocolate muffin was excellent. Good coffee too. Not so crowded after 1.30pm.

Lovely, roomy cafe on the 2nd level on Capital on Quay. My partner and I visit it every time we come to Wellington. Their coffees are absolutely divine, really living up to the coffee culture experience that you expected when visiting Welly. We were recommended the Sticky Piggy Burger and the Meat Lover Burger for lunch, which tasted excellent. Almost like a bao bun filling but in burger form. Would 100% recommend. But coffee and food aside. The staff are lovely, friendly, and really put effort in making you feel welcome. One of my favourite coffee spots ☺️

I come here in the mornings to get breakfast on the days I have to work in town. It's one of the few places that open early enough for me to do this. Thankfully the food and coffee are of a great standard. While the decor isn't amazing, service is pleasant and I can always get a table. It tends to be a reasonably buzzy atmosphere with people stopping in for takeaways and coffee catch ups.

Lovely hidden cafe that is open on Saturdays as well. The current gluten free corn fritters and bacon can be highly recommended - a solid and delicious meal. Love that patrons can choose whether to sit on the dark side or light side of the cafe. There’s an option for everyone, also whether you want a table or a coveted couch. If you access it via the lift in the building, it is wheelchair friendly too.
