    I purchased a clutch kit from Partmaster North Shore that turned out to be not fit for purpose. When I raised the issue, the CEO contacted my employer and falsely claimed that I had threatened staff. Fortunately, I recorded the entire interaction, which clearly shows I remained calm and respectful throughout. This matter has now been formally referred to the Disputes Tribunal and MBIE’s Consumer Protection team under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. Legal note: I have been advised that the CEO has since referred this matter to the police in response to my lawful recording of the interaction. Under section 216B of the Crimes Act 1961, recording a conversation that I am personally part of is fully legal in New Zealand. This review is factual, supported by evidence, and protected under sections 8–9 of the Defamation Act 1992 (truth and honest opinion). Below Is the Transcript of the email that was CC'd to me and My Employer Dear Cornel, I am writing to bring an incident to your attention involving one of your staff members, Denis Zaitsev, who visited our North Shore branch yesterday. During his visit, he threatened one of my team members, stating that they would be personally liable for a fine under the Consumer Guarantees Act. As the correspondence and attached invoice indicate that the purchase was made for Grey Lynn Toyota, and Denis used his work email, I am addressing this matter directly with you. I trust you would not condone such behaviour from your staff, particularly towards another business’s employee. The issue appears to concern a clutch kit purchased from Partmaster on 23 April 2025, which was then returned to us in early October 2025 β€” nearly six months later. The attached invoice clearly states the following terms of purchase: β€’ Goods for credit must be returned within 14 days. β€’ Any claims for shortages must be lodged within 7 days of receipt. β€’ Procured goods or items that have been fitted will not be credited or refunded. β€’ Purchase goods wisely, as the Fair Trading Act 1986 does not require us to refund goods when a customer changes their mind. A six-month delay is clearly an unreasonable period to expect a return. Regarding the claim that the clutch kit was β€œnot fit for purpose,” this is incorrect. The product supplied matched the vehicle description and sample plate & cover supplied by your staff member. I note we were not supplied release bearings or a vehicle registration number which would have further assisted with verification.     I’m not one to leave reviews however I was left extremely disappointed in this place - first off they ordered the incorrect part so that delayed me over the weekend to only go back pick up what they told me was the manual version of the plug for my vehicle so I purchased it - got home to install it and it was again the wrong switch and the thread was longer and the end got damaged going in to far into my gearbox - I took it back to get a full refund to be denied all because of they’re incompetence and selling me the incorrect part in the first place and now down money and stuck with a useless part . They need better training and know what they’re actually talking about & selling to prevent wasting customers time & money.

    Outstanding service. They had already closed up for the day but Brandon and the team at Partmaster were still prepared to help us. They had one part in store, and ordered the other to be delivered first thing the next morning for my partner to pick up. By treating us like VIP's for something small they've gained loyal customers who'll be back, and we love telling our friends and family (and even complete strangers online who read reviews like this) about fantastic customer service, excellent product knowledge and great prices.     I called up and gave Brandon a part code for an alternator and they put it on order, the same day I came in and paid for it. It arrived the very next day (less than 24 hrs) and Brandon gave me a call to say it was ready for collection. I came in and got it no problem. Will definitely be coming back :)

    Awesome customer service. Came in for a replacement bulb for a front headlight. Karl was fantastic….not only did he give us good advice but he also spent about 45 minutes replacing it. Such a nice guy and we really appreciated his help. He went above and beyond helping us out. Awesome kiwi business. I would highly recommend them. Great job!!!!!

    Just wanted to commend the staff down at the Wairau branch. The team are excellent to deal with, have good knowledge and get orders ready as promptly as possible. Best service we have ever had with any supplier to be fair. Great bunch of guys and great service, should have been using you guys long ago. For retail or trade, definitely give these guys a try first.
