   UPDATE 12/06/25 The company is now in liquidation, even though the website is still running. P UPDATE 07/06/25 I have reported this company to the Commerce Commission, and strongly encourage others who are waiting on a refund to do the same. No response from either Ainslie (who responded to this message promising a refund), or Davies Appliances regarding my refund. Their phone number doesn't work and is constantly engaged. __________________________________________ Unbelievably bad service. I ordered a washing machine and dryer 4 weeks in advance. I was told an hour before delivery that the boxes were severely water damaged. Now apparently Panasonic don't sell that model washing machine any more, which is strange given you can still buy it on Davies website. I haven't heard from them in almost a week, which is ridiculous. I'm demanding my money back so I can spend it at a place that will actually provide the items they sell.

   Extremely disappointed with our experience at Davies Appliances. Over a year ago, my mother ordered a wall oven from them and has been chasing it ever since. At first, communication was incredibly difficult. When she did manage to get through (because she was buying something else), the owner explained his wife was unwell, which we were truly empathetic toward and understanding of. She later placed another order for a dishwasher, which did arrive, but the original oven she ordered seemed to have been forgotten. After multiple follow-ups, we were told that the oven must have been accidentally on-sold to someone else, and a new one would be reordered. She was told to expect it by late December or just after. It’s now June. My mother is a kind, patient woman who genuinely wanted to support a local business, and this has completely backfired. She is still using an oven that only works intermittently. It’s heartbreaking and frustrating watching her be treated like this after showing so much trust. All we want at this point is a refund, but we can’t even get a response. There has been no follow-through, no accountability, and no resolution. Local businesses thrive because of the communities that support them, this isn’t how you treat people.

   I feel compelled to write this review after my recent experience with Davies Appliances. I agree with the most recent reviews that purchasing from this company was incredibly distressing. I ordered a washing machine and oven and had to chase them up for weeks. I called well over 10 times (the phones are often down) and sent multiple emails, (many that weren't responded to). As my kitchen renovation approached its final day (5-6 weeks after ordering the products) I demanded a refund, and after waiting another 5 days, this was finally processed. The whole ordeal had me constantly second-guessing myself and wondering if I was being scammed. They were honest in the end with the refund, but I can't honestly recommend this company. It's clear from a lot of deleted Facebook messages that I am not the only one that has experienced this kind of service either.

   Worst service ever. Regret purchasing from Davies. Paid $2,699 for a Mitsubishi fridge on 19 Feb for my parent in-laws who were moving into their new apartment at a retirement village. We were told the fridge was in stock and would be delivered on 25 or 28 Feb. On 28 Feb we had to contact Davies only to find out that there was apparently an order queue stock issue, and was told the fridge was actually 2 weeks away. 14 Mar we were told it was expected in their Wellington store around 24 Mar and that they'd get it a few days later and then deliver it as soon as possible to my parent in-laws. 1 Apr they said it was dispatched to them from Wellington. 11 Apr, we were STILL having to chase them up for the order or even to just get an update on what was happening. Practically no proactive follow ups from Davies team in spite of our patience and understanding. We needed to be the ones to email and call just to get any update from them. 22 Apr they finally said there was some new compliance issue on the energy rating which needed a new label and hence the delays. Ainslie said in the same email that he'd have to find something nice as compensation for my parent in-laws for all the delays. 5 May, we were still chasing them up and FINALLY on 16 May almost 3 months later the fridge was delivered - zero compensation given to my in-laws. I sent Ainslie and Graeme an email about this - no response, no surprise. Very disappointing and would not recommend this company at all. We initially went with them because of their good reviews and being told our item was in stock, but looks like we're not the only ones who have been stung by them given the more recent reviews. The only positive was that they at least gave a loan fridge for the duration of the wait.

   We place an order for a 55inch TV back in January 2025 and have been chasing this order ever since. The lack of communication and service is of a low standard and we are still trying to get this resolved to date. I would not recommend going to Davies Appliances in Silverdale for a effortless purchase. Update: We finally received our TV yesterday which is great. Unfortunately it took having to write this review to get action.

   Chose this store over the others from the outstanding Google reviews, and i wasn't disappointed! The best customer service experience from Davies Appliances. Bought a washing machine over the long weekend sales and received a call from Ainslie within a couple of days for delivery. I selected the delivery and installation, and Ainslie did a great job! He showed me some basic settings on my new machine, above and beyond an average installation job. Best prices and delivery costs too.

   So we have just upgraded our Coffee Machine and bought a Bissell spot cleaner from Ainslie. Pricing, product knowledge and customer service is excellent and way above that experienced at some bigger chain stores. You would be mad not to check out Ainslie and the team if you are after new appliances for your home

   Ainslie and his team at Davies Appliances did a fantastic job getting us a new washing machine and fridge freezer after newly arriving from Australia. Communication was excellent and he kept us in the loop with regular updates. Prices were competitive compared to the bigger stores. White goods aren't something that people buy often, but our next purchase will definitely be from Davies!
